At least three people were injured in three separate shootings in Salinas last night.
At least one man was injured following a shooting on the 700 block of Kilbreth Avenue. Officials say the incident took place shortly after 6. The 27-year-old victim was walking down the street, possibly with a second person, when he was confronted by two Hispanic men between the ages of 18 and 20. One of the men was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. He allegedly chased the victim down the street while shooting multiple rounds. He sustained several non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and was uncooperative with police. Officers believe there may have been a second victim, but were unable to locate that individual. The shooting is being investigated as gang-related.
One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries following a second shooting. Officials say the victim was shot in the hand during the incident, which took place near the intersection of North Sanborn Road and Del Monte Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital.
In a third incident, one man was taken to the hospital in critical condition following a shooting on Hebbron Avenue.
