Salinas community members rallied yesterday in support of Proposition 47. The ballot measure, also known as the Safe Schools and Community Act, would use millions of dollars in prison savings towards rehabilitation services statewide., The proposition would also help reduce non-violent felonies to misdemeanors to prevent overcrowding in prisons. Representatives from organizations including the American Civil Liberties Union and the Monterey Bay Central Labor Council made an appearance at the rally to support the November 4^th ballot measure.
