A Salinas man was arrested last night after he provided a false name and was found to be in possession of illegal drugs. Salinas Police officers responded to a report of a fight on the 700 block of Sherman Drive around 7pm and attempted to make contact with 46-year-old Daniel Frank Gonzales to find out what happened. Gonzales refused to speak with the police, and went into his garage where he began reaching into his pockets and his vehicle. When the officers approached him, he became aggressive and refused to cooperate. Gonzales gave police a false name, and was handcuffed while his car was searched. Officers found heroin, enough methamphetamine to be consistent with sales, and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into Monterey County jail.
