Governor brown has signed a bill, that renews an effort to provide funding to sea otters. Ab-971 keeps the voluntary tax check-off program in place for another 5-years. the bill was authored by local assemblyman bill monning. The money collected goes to the “California sea otter fund,” which supports programs to monitor and protect sea otters. The voluntary tax-check off box is one of several that appear on state income tax forms.
