The california highway patrol is preparing for a “maximum enforcement period” this holiday weekend. that means that every available c-h-p officer will be out, and on patrol during the labor day weekend. the increased enforcement starts today at 6 p.m., and ends on Monday at 11:59p.m. As part of the enforcement, a d.u.i. checkpoint is scheduled to be set up in salinas on friday night.
