A mother of an inmate at the Ben Lomond Conservation Camp was arrested after attempting to smuggle drugs into the facility this morning. Rhoda Nunley was spotted by Correctional officers at the Empire Grade Road detention facility, dropping 2 large bags on the ground near the entrance to the jail. 2 inmates, one identified as Nunley’s son, allegedly grabbed the bags that were said to contain methamphetamine, marijuana, tobacco, a cell phone and other items. Nunley was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
