A court hearing has been scheduled following a motion to prevent Watsonville Mayor Luis Alejo from voting for his replacement on the City Council. Councilman Emilio Martinez filed a motion for a restraining order to stop Alejo from voting for his replacement. Alejo has submitted his resignation but will not vacate his seat until his replacement is named. The vote is slated for November 30th, and a court hearing on the motion has been scheduled for Monday the 29th.
