Traffic Fatality at 41st and Clares
This morning at about 10:00 a.m., CPD responded to a multi vehicle accident at the intersection of 41st and Clares Street. Unfortunately, a female motorist sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. CPD, with assistance from CHP and the Sheriff’s Office are in the process of conducting a comprehensive accident investigation which is significantly impacting traffic congestion in the 41st Street corridor area. The following traffic areas and/or experiencing detours: N/B 41st between Mall Entrance & Clares (shutdown) W/B Clares at Derby (traffic re-routed onto S/B 42nd) E/B Clares @ 41st (right turn only) **E/B Clares is open to pass through traffic seeking with the exception of the closures at 41st** Traffic closures are expected to last until mid afternoon.
