2 new memorial benches will soon be placed on a scenic walkway in Monterey county. That after Monterey County Planning Commissioners approved the bench that honors Braxton Stuntz (the Carmel teen who drowned after failing through a blowhole at Garrapata State Beach in January. The other bench will honor Howard Brunn, a World War ll bomber pilot, Carmel city council member, and environmentalist. Brunn worked to keep oil tankers out of the Monterey Bay, preserve the Odello Artichoke Fields and Hatton Canyon, and generally protect the Carmel and Big Sur area.
