Several alleged drunk drivers were arrested new year’s eve. 58 year-old Sylvester Lee Basnight was arrested after he lost control of his vehicle while driving south on Highway 1 in Santa Cruz county; while 19 year-old Eliazar Cruz was arrested after he led law enforcement on a chase from Ocean and Plymouth Streets in Santa Cruz, onto Highway 17 northbound.
