2 contracts have been approved by Santa Cruz county supervisors. The state, grant-driven, contracts are with the Salvation Army so the organization can oversee the operation of both homeless shelter sites in Santa Cruz county. The North County Shelter will be in the Salvation Army’s Laurel Street building through June 30th, and an Outdoor Tent Encampment will be in the city-owned lot at 1220 River Street….at least through March 31st, and possibly longer If a major City Water Department project scheduled for that property is delayed.
