A 23 year-old Salinas man has been convicted of a first degree murder that took place in 2015. Daniel Lorenzo Petty was found guilty of severely beating, shooting, and stabbing a 52 year-old man, before dumping him off of a trail at the end of Dunes Drive in Marina and burning him. The victim had reportedly responded to Petty’s craigslist ad. Petty is scheduled to return to a Monterey county court room August 29th, for his sentencing hearing. He faces a possible sentence of Life Without The Possibility Of Parole.
