1 person died and another was seriously injured in an accident this morning in Gilroy. The Solo-vehicle crash occurred just before 6 o’clock, when a vehicle left the slow lane and went through a fence on the shoulder of Highway 101, and wrapped the driver’s side of the car around a tree near Leavesley Road. The Driver was declared dead at the scene, and the passenger was air-lifted to a San Jose trauma center with serious injuries.
