13-year-olds arrested in blaze that killed firefighter, left one missing 02-19-20 15:40 DC

Two 13-year-old boys have been arrested and are accused of starting a fire at the public library in Porterville that left one firefighter dead and another missing.

Investigators said the teenagers were arrested Tuesday in the blaze that killed fire 35-year-old fire Capt. Raymond Figueroa. Another firefighter, 25-year-old Patrick Jones remains missing.

Police said the teenagers were seen running from the library shortly after the blaze started. They face arson, manslaughter and conspiracy charges.

Porterville is located 50 miles north of Bakersfield in the San Joaquin Valley.
