A man was air-lifted to a trauma center with major injuries early this morning, after a D.U.I. driver hit him as he stood next to his stopped vehicle. That accident occurred just after 1:30 this morning on the shoulder of southbound Highway 17, just south of the Mount Hermon Road exit. 41 year-old Watsonville resident Lauro Navarro Junior was arrested, and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail.
